The Siemens 3RT1026-1BB40 is a power contactor of the SIRIUS 3RT1 family, designed for switching three-phase motors and other electrical loads in industrial plants.
The contactor is rated for motors up to 11 kW at 400 V in utilization category AC-3, i.e. starting and stopping squirrel-cage induction motors during operation. When it receives the command from the control circuit, it closes or opens the main contacts that supply the motor.
Combined with an overload relay or circuit breaker, it forms a complete motor feeder with switching and protection. The weight is approximately 0.58 kg.

It is essential that the coil voltage of the replacement contactor matches the control circuit voltage of the plant. It should also be checked that auxiliary contacts and connections are compatible with the installed contactor.
AC-3 is the utilization category for starting and stopping squirrel-cage induction motors in normal operation. In this category the contactor can switch motors up to 11 kW at 400 V.
The most common symptoms include humming or vibrating coil, worn or welded main contacts, failure to close or open, overheated terminals and burn marks.
Replacement is recommended when the main contacts are worn or welded, the coil is damaged or the contactor has reached a high number of operating cycles. A worn contactor can cause voltage drops and damage to the motor.
