The Siemens 3RW4055-6BB34 is a soft starter of the SIRIUS 3RW40 family, size S6, designed for soft starting and stopping of high-power three-phase induction motors, up to 75 kW at 460 V.
The soft starter gradually increases the voltage applied to the motor during starting, reducing the inrush current and mechanical shocks on the drive train. On high-power motors this results in a significant reduction of stress on couplings, gearboxes and pipelines and in lower voltage drops on the supply compared with direct-on-line starting.

It reduces the inrush current and starting torque, limiting mechanical stress on couplings, gearboxes and pipelines as well as voltage drops on the supply, which is particularly important for high-power motors.
The most common symptoms include the motor not starting or starting abruptly, error indications on the device, overheating, abnormal humming and irregular operation on one phase.
