The Siemens 6AV6646-0AB21-2AX0 is a SIMATIC Thin Client 15" Touch, an industrial operator terminal with a 15" TFT display and touch operation, designed to remotely display and operate HMI and PC applications on the network.
Unlike a conventional operator panel, the thin client does not run its own HMI project: it connects via Ethernet to a server, a PC or a SIMATIC panel and displays its user interface, allowing the operator to control the machine from an additional station. This makes it possible to create additional operator stations with reduced costs and maintenance, because software and data remain centralised.
The device supports three client modes: SmartAccess, to connect to panels and WinCC systems equipped with Sm@rtServer, RDP for remote access to Windows PCs and servers, and Web for displaying web pages.
The display has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 64K colours. The power supply is 24 V DC and the weight is approximately 4.6 kg. It is a built-in version, designed for mounting in control cabinets, consoles and control enclosures.
