CNC MACHINES
CNC MACHINES
Computerized numerical control (commonly called CNC) is a mechatronic measuring and control system applied to machine tools, which are called numerical control machines. A CNC machine uses a specific industrial PC, which can be separated from the control panel or embedded in it.
A CNC machine is controlled by a computer processing the information, adjusting the positions, angles and sensors that, following interpolation – which is based on the mode set by the CNC software – control motors and other actuators. Interpolation takes milliseconds, which are enough to ensure high precision and high speed of execution.
CNC technology allows automatic machining with multiple axes used at the same time. A CNC machine can be classified according to the number of axes that can be simultaneously interpolated.
