Rainer Brehm to lead Siemens’ new Automation unit
From 1 October 2026, Siemens is bringing its main automation activities together in a single organisation, led by Rainer Brehm.
Rainer Brehm is the President of Siemens’ new Automation unit, effective 1 October 2026. The appointment accompanies a reorganisation that combines Customer Services, Factory Automation, Motion Control and Process Automation, as part of the ONE Tech Company strategy.
The stated aim is to strengthen the integration of automation expertise and help industrial customers develop more flexible, productive and resilient production systems.
Automation, software and artificial intelligence
Brehm brings to his new role the experience gained leading Factory Automation and, later, as COO of the automation business and CTO of Digital Industries.
Over his career he has contributed to the development of technologies such as software-defined automation and Industrial AI. The new organisation aims to take this integration further, guiding industry towards increasingly autonomous production supported by artificial intelligence.
E‑Repair’s point of view
For E‑Repair, Siemens Approved Partner – Industry Services, the evolution of automation also highlights the importance of caring for plants throughout their life cycle.
Innovation, maintenance and production continuity are needs that meet every day in factories. Diagnosis, repair, remanufacturing and testing of industrial electronics help make the most of existing resources while technologies evolve.
From E‑Repair, congratulations to Rainer Brehm and best wishes in his new role.
Keep Industry Running.
